Alyssa Grimes, Ed.D., SPHR, is a dynamic speaker, educator, and leadership development consultant with a passion for building stronger teams and better workplaces through learning. With deep expertise in adult education and organizational development, Alyssa currently serves as Director of Learning and Development for the State of Tennessee, where she leads enterprise-wide training initiatives that drive engagement, culture, and performance.
Alyssa’s practical, people-first approach is shaped by a diverse career spanning both public and private sectors—including HR leadership at IQTalent Partners and multiple leadership roles within the State of Tennessee. She has also taught in the University of Memphis’s Doctor of Education program, preparing the next generation of leaders in adult learning, leadership, and educational technology.
Alyssa holds a Doctorate in Adult and Higher Education from the University of Memphis, a Master’s in Education from Middle Tennessee State University, and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and serves on the Graduate Advisory Board for the Baker School at the University of Tennessee.
